Mini Lathe Spindle Techniques with Mark Sillay
Saturday, March 29th, 2008 from 9:00am to 4:00pm
Class Size (8)
This class will focus on fine spindle turning using spindle gouge techniques. A 3/8" spindle gouge will be the tool of choice. The first part of the class will establish a very simple grind (no jig required) that will aid you in slicing wood like a pro. Each student will then work on learning to use the spindle gouge for different cuts and fine finial work. The instructor will be able to that the time to assist each student individually to help them perfect their slicing technique with the gouge. All basic tools will be provided, but you can bring your own tools if you want. (3/8" spindle gouge)
This class is considered suitable for teens that are at least 13 years of age. A parent or legal guardian must be present if a minor is to participate in the class.
